About Armitage Farm

Armitage Farm is a boutique breeding farm of Standardbred trotters that is designed to produce results on the track. Our focus is on TROTTERS! The Armitage Farm team believes in teamwork and pride, delivering state of the art equine care and wellness.

Ready to expand their venture into breeding trotters, founders Jim and Rita began their search for the perfect horse farm situated in the heart of horse country. With the help of Lyndsey Brady Martin, owner of Kentucky Land and Home, they explored numerous options before discovering an ideal farm spanning over 500 acres, conveniently located in Scott and Woodford counties. Erhaab Stud owned by Shadwell Farm was returned to Kentucky ownership with the purchase. The farm included multiple barns, homes, paddocks, and more! With its practical layout and ample space, the property offered the ideal setting for them to embark on their Standardbred adventure, now known as Armitage Farm.
